This is an identity for an LA based telecine company. I’m not sure what they do really or why they are called Royal Muster but they do a lot of stuff with Taylor Swift so that’s obviously quite nice. I completely forgot I’d done this job which means I’m getting old! I based the design on the Royal Mail typeface which is one of my favourites. This was quite an epic job I can tell you. Working out the design and doing the illustrations, some with cut aways etc was quite a big challenge. I first went to a meeting about this in 2019 I think and then due to Covid it was postponed because the museum was shut. I picked it up again and finally finished last year. Then it had to go back through the museum system and be all checked off. I also created a little character called Roundel, based on the London Transport logo , who guides you through the book and museum too. I've put in my original cover too as I liked it but it was a bit too arty I think!

Design of a quarterly magazine for the PR company Hanover Communications, featuring articles about politics, society and business. The magazine runs on a tight grid but some spreads are a bit more fun than others.

Beano Boredom Busters is my second design project for The Beano. It was a real challenge to turn each spread into an exciting one off experience for the reader. Hopefully it worked.

This was a great job designing the Ultimate Beano Guide. It’s 144 pages and had to be packed with characters and fun so it was a challenge to make it as different as possible on each page but still keep the Beano feel.

Infographic fact inspired illustration range of merchandise for Royal Museums Greenwich.

For some reason, the understanding of which is far above my pay grade, Sky Sports commissioned some research into different football ‘tribes’. They asked me to design the different ‘tribe’ badges and to create infographics around the research.

When the PR company The Playbook returned to their office after lockdown I was asked to come up with a doodly mural featuring their ‘values’ and that’s exactly what I did.

About three years ago I thought up an idea based on pretty poor pun. I thought it would be good to do Infographic versions of biographies. I did a presentation A3 and then sent it to a local publisher. Nothing much happened for a while and then suddenly they got in touch and said 'Let's do them!' Which was nice.

Great Lives in Graphics is a follow on from the Biographic range and aimed at children. I designed and illustrated the covers and the entire Cleopatra book and set the style for the rest of the range, where I dip in and design spreads etc when needed. Over the past few year I’ve done quite a few covers for Unicorn Publishing. They specialise in art, history and military books. I have also undertaken full book designs for URBAN CARS and KWAIDAN among others and designed and illustrated the whole of REACHING FOR THE SKY and INVASION! You can find them all here

Viva Lewes & Brighton are great small monthly free magazines distributed in their respective locations. They use different local designers, illustrators and artists to design the covers and every now and then I have a go. There is no payment but it's a nice project to do and has led to a few jobs.

Camera Illustration for T shirt for Seaside photography exhibition. Featuring cameras through the ages. This was quite a fiddly time consuming task as I had to draw them on computer and then trace them by hand to give them a wobbly feel!

Also design for a T shirt to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

Finally, various merchandise based on floor pattern in The Queen's House, Greenwich. Had a lovely day photographing / researching the house which included a boat trip down the Thames and a sausage sandwich.

Design of poster and chocolate bar for Sainsbury's World War 1 advert.
The chocolate bar is being sold in stores with all proceeds going to The Royal British Legion. I think they sold over 500,000 of them. I didn't manage to get one though!

Corporate identity and advertising for UK air conditioning company. I came up with the concept for the advertisments  after visiting the factory and noticing that the units looked a bit like they could be floating about in space.

 

From 2011 until 2014 I've been designing 'luggage' style labels which were stuck around the bar area of the West Holts stage at Glastonbury Festival. The stage hosts a variety of World Music, hence the travel theme to the project.
